I have used this brand for YEARS! and always been happy. I changed to using this shampoo and it left my hair matted like it was greasy. \Even went to the hairdressers to get my hair washed and even they couldnt lift it. it coated my hair. my advice... avoid this product unless your salon recommends it

New formula has had a terrible effect on my hair

I’m been using Bain Satin for at least 15 years and I absolutely loved it and it’s pretty much the only shampoo I used, however after using the new formula since November, I have had really very significant hair loss and it increasingly made my hair lengths dry, straw like and greasy at the roots. Initially I thought the hair loss may be due to hormones etc. but I had everything checked out and my health/hormones are good. It really didn’t occur to me that it might be the shampoo especially after using for so long. I finally realised that it might be the shampoo when my scalp started getting very greasy (I never had scalp issues or greasy hair) and my hair was starting to look frizzy and straw like as mentioned. When I finally twigged it might be the shampoo a few weeks ago, I moved to a different product and the greasiness and texture of my hair has improved dramatically. My hair loss has also reduced significantly but I’m having to take hair loss supplements and treatments in the hope it will grow back in. I can’t say 100% that the shampoo was the only factor to lead to the hair loss but as it 100% made my scalp greasy and hair brittle, which is now resolved after stopping using it, I can only assume that the shampoo unfortunately cased it.

Hair feels dry

When rinsing it out, it makes my hair feel rough,dry and knotty. Disappointed for how much it costs.

Absolutely amazing!!

I bought this yesterday with the conditioner and blow dry protector spray & OMG am I glad that I did. I used it this morning & my hair has stayed amazing looking all day! I'm 56 years old now & my once thick looking hair now looks fine & dry. But hey, what a transformation even after the first use. My hair looks 1000 times better. I feel so much happier about myself. My hair feels so soft & looks amazing. I'm so pleased & will definitely buy again without a doubt!

Perfect for dry medium hair,

I have medium-thickness hair strands that are increasingly dry as I age (I am in my late twenties). This is the only shampoo I have found to adequately clean and moisturise my hair. When I use this in conjunction with the Lait Vital conditioner, I don't need to use leave-in products or hair oils afterwards to keep my hair moisturised. I use this in the summer and Bain Satin Riche in the winter.

Definitely worth every penny

Love the scent

Amazingly smooth and great texture

Best Shampoo for dry, frizzy and thin hair

Really nourished hair

These products arrived on a great time and decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, they are expensive - compared to a supermarket brand - but they are so so worth it. A miracle product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll add context by saying that I am a bit of a sceptic with most hair products, particularly those that claim to address split ends, having used many over the years that have done a whole lot of nothing. Reading the ingredients, I truthfully thought this was going to be another one of those products, and I put off trialling it to write this review because mentally, I'd already written it off as not working. I finally gave it a go, and to my dismay, the condition of my hair felt significantly better from the first use. Three uses later and my husband even commented on it, saying "your hair looks better than it has in years, what have you done to it?". I can't quite believe it, but it's become a staple in my hair routine and I can feel the difference every time I use it. It feels like my hair is finally recovering. The smell is pretty awful however, so that sucks, but I feel like it's a worthy sacrifice for the improved hair condition. I have been using the shampoo in combination with the serum and conditioner (which also actually work), so I do imagine some of the hair condition improvement is related to these products, and I can't be sure that the combination isn't what is having the effect over the shampoo in isolation. I did however try using the shampoo and conditioner alone, and observed a noticeable improvement when I added the serum into the routine too, so I do believe the serum goes beyond what the shampoo and conditioner can do. The serum also follows nicely after the shampoo and conditioner as it helps get rid of the awful smell. I was kindly gifted this by Kérastase in exchange for a review, and I'm adding this as a disclaimer in the interest of honesty, however I will be repurchasing with my own money when I run out. I hope that my review doesn't come across forced as I certainly wasn't manipulated or told in any way to leave a positive review by Kérastase; I genuinely can't praise this product enough. A miracle product for me, and one I absolutely believe is worth the price tag.

Fabulous range!

I prefer it to satin bath as I felt it was heavy and too much for the hair. I like the fact that there is 2 masks to cater for different hair types as well as the new heat protector lotion which I have used on lots of hair types and has worked really well.

Impressive and nourishing must have

It leaves a very clean scalp and detangled hair in the first wash/shampoo (I normally shampoo twice) despite using a small amount. It lathers very well and it gives a very milk smooth feeling after rinsing the shampoo out. I do feel that despite this being a high-end professional brand, the bottle may be a bit too small for the RRP value it might be worth - but it is undoubtedly a great investment for anyone who has very dry and fine hair like myself. I can see myself repurchasing the same shampoo for the foreseeable future!

Lovely but…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this shampoo a couple of times already and I am somewhat impressed but it is quite hard to wash out. It does feel lightweight on my hair and doesn’t make it feel greasy like most products do if washed out correctly. I have fine, dry hair that also gets greasy very quickly so I normally struggle finding products that don’t make my hair greasy or weigh it down. The product also smells lovely! The brand has quite a high price point so keep this in mind when purchasing. Another downside is that I couldn’t find any information about it not being tested on animals on the bottle. Hopefully this is something that they can consider in the future.
